Egyptian Ship Repair&Building Co.

ESRBC Delivers Second Tugboat “Safaga 4” to Red Sea Ports Authority.

As part of the continued success of the Egyptian Ship Repair & Building Company (ESRBC)—one of the leading shipbuilding and ship repair yards in Egypt—and in line with the national directive to localize the shipbuilding industry and modernize Egyptian port services, the tugboat “Safaga 4” successfully departed the company’s yard on Monday, 6 April 2026, bound for Port Tawfik, Suez, in preparation for her official delivery to the Red Sea Ports Authority (RSPA). This milestone represents a continuation of the strong and fruitful cooperation between both parties. The delivery of Safaga 4 marks the second unit within a contract for the construction and delivery of four harbor tugboats, each with a bollard pull of 70–75 tons, for the benefit of the Authority. It is worth noting that the first delivered unit, “Safaga 3,” was handed over ahead of the contractual schedule and is currently operating efficiently in support of the Authority’s port operations. Both vessels have been constructed in accordance with the latest international standards and technical specifications, under the supervision and classification of the Italian classification society RINA. This class of tugboats is characterized by high maneuverability and performance escorting capabilities, making them well-suited for ship handling, towing operations, berthing assistance, and firefighting support within port environments.
