A contract was concluded between the Egyptian ship repairs and building company and the Alexandria Port Authority on 27/2/2024 at the company’s headquarter to build and supply (3) new multi-purpose tugboats with tractors system, towing 70 Tons and (2) fast pilot aluminum boats, speed (20knots) and (2) tugboats towing (12) tons.
With god’s grace and success, and as a continuation of the march of the political leadership to develop raise the efficiency of the Egyptian port services, a contract was concluded between the Egyptian ship repairs and building company and the Alexandria Port Authority on 27/2/2024 at the company’s headquarter to build and supply (3) new multi-purpose tugboats with tractors system, towing 70 Tons and (2) fast pilot aluminum boats, speed (20knots) and (2) tugboats towing (12) tons.
The contract was signed by Mr. Rear Admiral\ Ashraf Abbas Ibrahim, chairman of the board of directors of the Egyptian ship repairs and building company, and Mr. Rear Admiral\ Nehad Shahin, chairman of the board of directors of the Alexandria Port Authority, in the presence of officials from both sides.
The signing ceremony began with the speck of Mr. Rear Admiral\ Ashraf Abbas, in which he explained the depth of the permanent and fruitful cooperation between the Alexandria Port Authority and the Egyptian ship repairs and building company, and stressed the company’s keenness to diversify and develop this cooperation between both sides, which was followed by a speech by Rear Admiral\ Nehad Shahin, chairman of the board of directors of the Alexandria Port Authority confidence in the quality and efficiency of the marine units that company bases its evidence on at the highest technical levels and its ability to compete with international companies working in the same field and achieve the principle of (made in Egypt) in addition to the development work and the continuous modernization pursued by the company.
Whereas, his excellency added that the contracted tugboats are distinguished by the fact that they operate with the tractors system, with high specifications, with a bollard pull of 70 tons for each tug, and a total length of 35 to 37 meters, a width of 12 to 13 meters, and a draft of about 6.5 meters. And a speed of 12 knots. In addition to (2) fast pilot aluminum boats, speed of (20 knots) and (2) tug boats of (12) tones bollard pull
His excellency indicated that the contracted marine units are a new and powerful addition to the fleet of marine unit owned by Alexandria Port Authority to achieve and raise the level of services and development for clients
