Accident description
– MID Bridge – RORO ship (120mt/L&21mt/B) her forward bulbous bow completely damaged, crushed due the ship collision with a wreck under water
– Damage length about 9 mt length and 4.5 mt high about 16 FR space (see photos) .
Repair works
– The repair works was carried out at ESRBC floating dock (9000 Ton) capacity
– ESRBC engineers, technicians team are specialized for this unconventional repairs
– New fabrication for all stiffeners, framers, longiludnals, steel plates were prepared, shapped according to the ship drawings details to achieve very high accuracy and compatibility with the ship performance during sailing
– Total steel plates replaced about 19 Tons (thick 10,12,14 mm)
Excuation repair time
– Total repairs time completed within 35 days (separated working) including all kind of tests required and painting
