Egyptian Ship Repair&Building Co.

Contract was signed at the company’s headquarter between the Egyptian ship repairs and building company, and the Damietta Port Authority to build and supply (4) new multi-purpose tugboats.
By virtue, and blessing of Allah, and as a continuation of the directions from the political leadership to develop and raise the efficiency of Egyptian port services, a contract was signed on 11/5/2023 at the company’s headquarter between the Egyptian ship repairs and building company, and the Damietta Port Authority to build and supply (4) new multi-purpose tugboats.
The contract was signed by MR. Rear Admiral / Ashraf Abbas Ibrahim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian ship repairs and building company, and Mr. Rear Admiral / Ahmed Hawash, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Damietta Port Authority, in the presence of attendees from both sides.
the signing ceremony began with the speech of Rear Admiral / Ashraf Abbas, in which he explained the depth of the permanent and fruitful cooperation between the Damietta Port Authority and the Egyptian ship repairs and building company, and stressed the company’s keenness to diversify and develop this cooperation between both sides, followed by a speech by Rear Admiral / Ahmed Hawash, during which he affirmed the depth of the Damietta Port Authority’s confidence in the quality and efficiency of the marine units that the company bases its evidence on at the highest technical levels and its ability to compete with international companies working in the same field and achieve the principle of made in Egypt in addition to the development work and the continuous modernization pursued by the company, which was evident to the attendees during the shipyard tour of under construction tugboats and the various marine units that the company is building.
Whereas, His Excellency added that the contracted tugboats are distinguished by the fact that they operate with the Tractor system, with high specifications and capabilities, with:

  • Bollard Pull of 70-75 tons for each tug.
  • Total length of 35 to 37 meters.
  • Draft of about 6.5 meters and a speed of 12 knots.

His Excellency indicated that the contracted tugboats are a new and powerful addition to the fleet of marine e unit owned by the Damietta Port Authority to achieve and upgrade the level of services and development for clients.
